Code of conduct and
SA8000 social standard
Our certification according to this standard verifies our socially responsible management system that safeguards the rights of employees, their workplace conditions and fundamental human rights.
Storck code of conduct
Our code of conduct comprises all relevant human rights obligations. The principles of conduct describe our fundamental orientation with regard to forced and child labour, health and safety, working hours, discrimination, freedom of association, remuneration, corruption, the environment and sustainability. Their content is binding for us and sets the standard for all business relationships initiated or maintained by Storck Group companies with suppliers, service providers and their subcontractors.
Certification according to the SA8000 social standard
Like our code of conduct, the SA8000 social standard (Social Accountability 8000) is based on international conventions on human rights, agreements of the UN’s International Labour Organisation (ILO) and national laws.
Our certification according to this standard, which is based on annual audits, verifies our socially responsible action. It has been confirmed annually since our initial certification in 2010.

The SA8000 requirements encompass our production departments as well as administration, with the following focal points:
- Prohibition of child and forced labour
- Occupational health and safety
- Freedom of association and right to collective bargaining
- Prohibition of discrimination and threats
- Legally compliant and respectful disciplinary measures
- Compliance with working time rules
- Appropriate remuneration
- Rejection of corruption and bribery
- Establishment of management systems for the implementation of, compliance with and verification of the requirements of our code of conduct
Reliable management
We have established a management system to systematically review and improve compliance with social criteria. Among other things, this includes annual training for all employees on these topics. Personnel employed through service providers also receive regular training on the contents of SA8000. A Social Performance Team at Storck reviews risks, documents incidents and complaints, initiates corrective and preventive actions based on the insights that are gained and regularly reports on all of this to company management.
Accessible complaint system
An internal complaint system is provide for employees for all topics related to the SA8000 standard. All incidents – which can be reported by persons directly involved or by observers – are reviewed, a decision is made on the need for action and remediation plans are implemented. Complaints can be submitted personally or anonymously.
General risk factors are determined for all production sites. Where they exist, additional information is obtained on the concrete situation on site, evaluated and targeted preventive actions are taken as indicated.
A central, publicly accessible reporting system for whistleblowers is provided in addition, facilitating reports of serious legal violations or infractions worldwide. This system is intended for employees, suppliers and their workers as well as third parties who want to submit information related to the violation of human rights and breaches of environmental regulations as well as corruption and bribery. It encompasses our group companies, their business partners and suppliers along the entire value chain.
Requirements for our suppliers
As a confectionery manufacturer, safe and socially acceptable conditions along the entire supply chain are an elementary requirement. Storck therefore demands and expects compliance with the SA8000 social standard or a comparable standard from suppliers, service providers and their subcontractors.
