A Storck Testimony Report
Mareen Bewernick reports on her traineeship and her job as Key Account Manager
When I started working at Storck Germany four years ago, I knew very little about sweets. However, since I have always been a loyal consumer, especially of Toffifee, I felt that this employer would probably be a good fit. I took part in a two-year sales trainee program, during which I worked in five different departments, including field work in Lübeck, market research, key account management, marketing project management and international marketing in Berlin. I learned about the uniqueness of our products, the German trade structure, different sales strategies and the challenges we face in the competitive FMCG market.
After successfully completing the program, I applied to the account management department and was very happy when I was offered a job as Junior Key Account Manager in Berlin. In this role I was able to improve my analytical and argumentation skills and I could expand my knowledge of the industry further.
After a year there, I had the chance to be relocated abroad to our Storck office in Austria. I gratefully accepted this promotion and moved to the beautiful city of Salzburg, where I am now a Key Account Manager for the central buying department of a large international retailer.
Throughout these four years at Storck I have worked with many great colleagues of different nationalities, some of whom have become good friends, and I have had great supervisors who supported me in building a career and working on my personal weaknesses. During this time I learned a lot (more than in five years of university) and I was given the chance to grow with my responsibilities. The only thing that hasn't changed is my love for Toffifee.
